Position: Situated on a main road between San Ginesio and Gualdo.  Don’t be put off by this, there is so little traffic. Views towards the Sibillini Mountains and San Ginesio.  Peaceful and serene.  There are neighbouring houses either side.

Description:  An old, stone farmhouse with a pergola at the rear and a garage to the front closest to the road.  The house is habitable but would benefit from new bathrooms and a kitchen.  The house is structurally sound but the garage roof could do with an overhaul.  There are wooden beams throughout. The pointing to the house is the flat, grey type used so often on beautiful stone which does nothing to enhance it but this can be remedied.  Nearly all of the internal doors are original old pine and the stairs, three flights from the front door to the attic are in original old, hewn stone. The garden has a well, is mature and private and there is room for a swimming pool.  There are a number of outbuildings, pigsties etc. which are included in the volume.

Comments:  The house is currently owned by an artist which probably explains why it hasn’t been modernised unsympathetically like a lot of the old Italian farmhouses and it retains tons of its original character.  It needs ‘smartening up’ and a few luxuries like a workable kitchen and new bathrooms but you can certainly live in it while work is in progress.  The 2 fireplaces (1 open and 1 with glass front) in the house have been installed more recently but the stone lintels have been carved by the artist and they have a wonderful ‘country house’ feel about them.  This house is a steal at this price, a real definite ‘not to miss’.
