While to the north, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the town nestled in the surrounding countryside.
The farmhouse itself is set over 3 floors, each of which is 100 sqm. A combined kitchen & dining room on the ground floor looks out through French windows onto the loggia, where during the many warm months of the year, you can dine al fresco, while ceiling fans circulate the air keeping you cool. The other side of the central entrance leads to a large sitting room with its traditional fireplace. Four large French windows make this a pleasant, light & airy room.
Climbing to the upper floors by the central, internal staircase, one finds a handsome master bedroom and ensuite bathroom and, just across the hall, two additional bedrooms and a family bathroom. An additional double bedroom with a spectacular view is located on the top floor.
The land surrounding the house comprises of 4000 sq m of cultivated garden with planting beds, lawns and mature trees. A pristine 5 m x 12 m salt water pool lies to the south and looks out onto the wide valley below and to the hills beyond. Le Marche is blessed with the wonderful Adriatic coast line, the beaches are clean (blue flag) and child friendly. You can hire sunbeds & umbreallas for the day, for approx €8 per person, or seek out the free beaches & take your own equipment. It is a must to have a fish lunch overlooking the sea while sampling some chilled verdicchio wine (local to the region). There are many bars, pizzerias, fine restaurants and gelaterie (ice cream shops) to explore right along the coast and the night life is worth sampling. Lake Being just outside the Sibilini national park, a trip to Lago di Fiastra (approx 40 mins) is well worth it to cool off in the summer months, it's far less busy than the coast and the water is very refreshing on a hot summers day. There is a local bar & restaurant for lunch and you can hire pedalos and boats to go out onto the lake. Activities There is a golf course within a 15-20 min drive. As we are close to the Sibilini national park, there is an abundance of outdoor activites to try such as trekking, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking, hand gliding, balloon rides and skiing & snow boarding in the winter months Getting here Ancona local airport from Stansted - Ryan Air. 55 mins. Car hire available. Rome and Bologna are both accessible 4 hrs and 3.30 respectively. Further details Loro Piceno is well supplied with supermarkets, veg shops, butchers, post office, chemist, tobacconist, ATM machines (foreign cards can be used), bars, excellent restaurants, pizzerias, gelaterie. Sagras and markets. There are several wineries including Villa Sofias own to sample the excellent local wine and buy from source. The property is located within 20 minutes to at least a dozen other towns or villages. Towns worth a visit are; Ascoli Piceno, with an amazing piazza, like a small Piazza San Marco in Venice Macerata, the region capital, with a fabulous open air opera season in July & August Tolentino pretty market town with a large market on Tuesdays Loretto, very beautiful with an amazing catherdral Everywhere you go, you'll find something worth seeing but you won't be put off my the tourists as Le Marche is still an undiscovered gem - the real Italy!
